Bath seats

Bath seatsWhen used in conjunction with a bath board, bath seats provide a raised seat for those who wish to sit in or near to the water. It is not recommended or safe for you to then transfer onto the bottom of the bath moving the seat out of the way until it is required again for transferring out of the bath.

In order to use a bath board and bath seat together you need to be able to support your own body weight through your arms/hands. If you are unable to do this you will not be able to transfer back up onto the bath board to exit the bath.

A battery operated bath lift may be a better and more suitable option for you. It is possible to get a combination bath board and bath seat (one piece), however these tend to be rather bulky and heavy.

Swivel bath seats

Swivel bath seatsThese bath seats sit on top of and across the bath. They are more supportive than bath boards as they have both the backrest and arms. They swivel from left to right and feature a locking mechanism to allow safe transfers and use.
